Stabi Kulturwerk Berlin

With the Stabi Kulturwerk, the Berlin State Library has created a vibrant exhibition space that brings centuries-old knowledge and cultural history to life. Across approximately 1,000 square meters, visitors encounter rare manuscripts, historical books, sheet music, and detailed maps. More than 300 objects tell the eventful history of the library and its collections.

Lighting Design for Museum Display Cases: Interview with Stabi Berlin

Many of the exhibits on display are extremely delicate and cannot normally be displayed on a permanent basis. To showcase them, it was necessary to achieve exceptionally low illuminance levels of 50 lux or less—a technical challenge that required the utmost precision in both planning and execution.

Our lighting helps to showcase these exhibits with precision and subtlety. Using our “R1” light strips in various designs, along with magnetic track spotlights, we’ve created a flexible lighting concept that protects delicate exhibits, enhances their impact, and optimally facilitates the regular rotation of the exhibits.
